The iOS app

Honey Shelf for iOS wraps the live web product, so it is always up to date — no app updates needed for new features. It adds three native capabilities: push notifications, camera capture for QC photos, and an optional Face ID lock. Android users can install the web app from the browser (Add to Home Screen).

Signing in

Sign in with your email and password. Google sign-in is not available inside the iOS app (Google does not permit its sign-in flow in embedded app browsers) — if your account uses Google, set a password first on the web at Settings → Security, then use that password in the app.

Push notifications

After you sign in, iOS asks permission to send notifications. Three alert types arrive as pushes — PO approval requests (they block a colleague's work), stockout alerts, and anomaly alerts. Routine updates (low stock, goods received, approvals granted) stay in the twice-daily email digest and the in-app bell, exactly as on the web. Tapping a notification opens the relevant screen.

On the Produce stage (stage 5), the QC lot form shows a "Take photo" button in the app. Shots go into the same photo set as files picked from the library — up to 6 photos, 5MB each, attached when you record the lot.

Face ID lock

Settings → Security → Face ID lock (visible only in the app, on devices with Face ID or Touch ID). When on, the app asks for Face ID each time it opens on that device.

The Face ID lock is a privacy screen for shared spaces — it protects an already-signed-in session from shoulder-surfing. It is not two-factor authentication and does not replace your password. On a cold start, content may flash briefly before the lock appears, and the iOS app switcher may still show a snapshot of the last screen.

Working offline

The iOS app needs an internet connection. If the network drops, the app shows a connection error — reopen it once you are back online. A long-unused app may also ask you to sign in again.
